Sylvia introduces us, with her colors and strakes, to the reality of our urban landscapes: reality that make us reflect about the human marks and it effects in our environment, to ask ourselves about who we are, where are we going and for what reason we fight.

Sylvia Torres Estrada is a Mexican artist, born in Ciudad Mante, Tamaulipas, resides in San Luis Potosi, Industrial Designer, had her artistic education in the Instituto Potosino de Bellas Artes and in the Centro de las Artes. Gifted with an indispensable sensibility to perceive and to communicate emotions and the city beats among other topics..
 
With her brush strokes full of strong, she achieves a mix of impressionist and expressionist style, the colors take independence of the reality to deal with any actual subject or personal feelings.
 
With her oil paintings in large formats, she reconstructs fragmented realities of imperfect urban landscapes: bridges, streets, buildings, crowds, concrete floors and contrasting subjects like the nature subjects that head and invite to reflexion.
 
Her large formats are worked with several techniques, like the acrylic, oil and encaustic.

Individual exhibitions



2016 – Perform her first individual exhibition in the City Hall of San Luis Potosi city, “Urban Inertia”. A reflexion of our common lives in the city, with more that 20 works.

2017 – Francisco Cossio Art Museum, “Passersby”, with 22 works, most in large formats.

2018 – 303 Gallery, La Aurora Company, San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, “Figures”. Urban landscapes that make think about the individual reality.

2019 - 303 Gallery, La Aurora Company, San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, “Conservation”. Work that synthesize the essence and the energy of the nature.
